Meet our team
After becoming a parent then a grandparent, spending 10 years in the Navy, and 20 years in business, Mechelle decided to pursue a law degree, which fulfilled a life-long dream of hers. Her practical experience in business and in the military bring a unique perspective and understanding of her clients’ needs. While Mechelle is competent under many practice areas, her special areas of interest are Business Law and Real Estate Law. Mechelle has traveled all over the globe - from rural Michigan towns to mountain peaks in Nepal – and those life experiences have given her a glimpse at global injustices like homelessness, poverty, and corporate greed. Practicing law allows Mechelle the tangible opportunity to seek justice in ways she never could in her previous careers and she is passionate about helping her clients succeed.
Kacie knew right away that she wanted to work as her mom's assistant as soon as the law firm plans began to materialize. Kacie loves the family atmosphere of the practice and she and Mechelle's work together is an extension of lifelong partnering on various ventures and projects together. Kacie's culinary degree practically guarantees that on some days there will certainly be some yummy treats laying around.
Shawn brings with him the professionalism, skills and advocacy he uses while serving as a Paralegal Specialist in the Michigan Army National Guard. Shawn also studies Business Law at Western Michigan University with future plans for law school. Shawn shares our firm's mission of access to justice for all people and client focused service.
Dolce is a very good judge of character and just like his human, he loves family. To be clear, his definition of family includes anyone that has a treat, a leash, or a tennis ball. Coming to a law firm can be stressful for some people, and Dolce helps by being a soothing companion. Some even say he's like a “therapy dog” for the office.
